Frank R. Pflum, of Kalkaska, passed away on Thu, Apr 21, 2011 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on Dec 15, 1919 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of the late Andrew and Carrie (Zaph) Pflum. 

Frank was a WWII veteran, serving our country in the US Army. His lifelong passion and occupation was building. Frank served on the Kalkaska County Economic  Development Corporation for 25 years. He was also a County Commissioner and Coldsprings Township Supervisor, in addition to serving on the Board of Education in Mancelona and on the county Mental Health Board. 

Frank was a member of the Bear Lake Christian Church. His hobbies included traveling and spending time with family and friends. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank is survived by his wife, Rose, whom he married on Jul 19, 1997 in Vancouver, British Columbia; his children, David R. (Donna) Pflum of Roscommon, Lorrie K. (Dave) Thompson of Mount Pleasant, and Diane L (Rick) Kovorik of Atlantic Mine; his step children, Don (Becky) Anderson of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Darin (Cassandra) Anderson of Coronado, CA, and Kristie (Randall) Smith of Elyria, OH; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and his sisters, Mary (Herman) Kollstedt of Harrison, OH, Betty Elbert of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Frank in death was his first wife, Myrtle, in 1995 after over 50 years of marriage; and his brother, William Pflum. 

Visitation was held on Mon, Apr 25, from 5 to 8 pm at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral was Tue at 11 am at the Bear Lake Christian Church with Pastor Scott Hoffer officiating. Burial took place at Coldsprings Township Cemetery. 

Memorials may be given in Frank's name to the Bear Lake Christian Chruch.
