Forest O. Clark, 60, of Mt. Pleasant R. 1, a native of Fife Lake, died Wednesday morning at Gratiot Community hospital in Alma after a brief illness.
Mr. Clark was born January 19, 1904 at Fife Lake, the son of William H. and Lucretia Clark, and at one time was employed at Fife Lake state forest. Later he was a Civilian Conservation Corps foreman, from 1936-43 was a forester at Mackinac state forest, from 1943-47 was employed by the state highway department at St. Ignace, and from 1947 until his death was a steam engineer at Mt Pleasant state hospital. He belonged to the Mt. Pleasant unit of Michigan State Employee's Association.
On August 10, 1927 in Grand Rapids he was married to Ina Mae Haskin, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Goudreau of St. Ignace, Mrs. Leroy (Doris) Soeltner of Ypsilanti, Mrs. David (Ann) Glazer of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. James (Carol) Minics of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, William H. and Michael F., both of Mt. Pleasant; 21 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Hager of Fife Lake and Mrs. Clare (Dorothy) Milliken of Kalkaska; and two brothers, Russell of Cadillac and Maurice of Fife Lake.
His parents and a sister, Mrs. Edna Raftery, preceded Mr. Clark in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Fife Lake Methodist Church, Rev. Max Gladding officiating, with burial in Clark cemetery, Kalkaska county. The body will repose at Smith Funeral home in Kingsley until being take to the church at noon Saturday to lie in state until time of funeral services.
