Florence Amber Barber, 83, a longtime resident of Rapid City, died Sun, Oct 17, 1999, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center where she had been a resident since 1990.
Miss Barber graduated from nurses training in 1948, and worked in the health care field in Chicago, Petoskey, and Traverse City prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Miss Barber was born in Rapid City on Aug 21, 1916, the daughter of the late Merle and Carrie Sattler Barber.
Surviving are brothers Guy Barber of Alden and Leo Barber of Rapid City; sisters Leda Miller and Erma Deater, both of Rapid City; and Donna Lively of Fairfield, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers Glen and Mac, and sisters Vera, Dawn, Pearl and Louise preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Oct 21 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor David Stramel officiated. Cremation followed services.
