Everett Lee Martens, a resident of St Johns, died at Sparrow Hospital on Jun 2, 2021. He was 84 years old.

He was born in St Johns, MI on Sep 11, 1936 the son of Howard and Leona (Behrens) Martens. On Feb 12, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Marie Snyder, in St Peter Lutheran Church. Together they were blessed with the births of three children, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and spent over sixty-five years as partners in life, farming and running Martens Farm and Lawn, which remains to be their outstanding legacy along with 29 children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen on Mar 3, 2021, a grandson, Kasey Baatz, and brother, Gary (Karen) Martens. He is survived by sons, Mark (Trish) Martens and Lee Martens; his daughter, Teresa Martens; grandchildren, Anson (Kori) Martens, Zac (Tori) Martens, Christine (Joe) Tejkl, Becky Jones, Missy Jones (Brian Schutt), John and Bruce Martens, and Lindsey Walker; great grandchildren, Hudson, Brayli, Lincoln, Berkley, Everett, and Mila Martens, Chase and Noah Tejkl, Tayen and Kaia Petoskey, Brennan and Riley Schutt.

Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home (Keck-Coleman Chapel), 1500 Waterford Parkway, St Johns, on Fri, Jun 4, from 3 to 8 pm. A Funeral service will be held at St Peter Lutheran Church, 8990 Church Rd, ST Johns, on Sat, Jun 5, at 11 am with Pastor Tim Bayer officiating.

Memorials may be made in his name to the church.
