Eva G. Safford, 92, of Kalkaska passed away peacefully on Jan 30, 2006, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center's - Long Term Care Center.
She was the beloved mother of Shirley Harding of Cadillac, Ernest M (Suesan) Straughen of Owosso, Nancy L (Jerry) Burrows of Canton, NC, and Donald G (Cindy) Straughen of Kalkaska; loved grandmother of 29 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Safford was born in Midland on Mar 12, 1913, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Ellen Burgess. She was a resident of Kalkaska since 1990, moving from Flint.
Mrs. Safford was a great mother, grandmother, and enjoyed being around young people. She loved polka music, roses and playing the piano.
Mrs. Safford was preceded in death by her son in law, Frank Harding.
The funeral service honoring her life was held on Fri, Feb 3, at the Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Matt Moser of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
