Ethel Marie Dzuris, 98, of Kalkaska, passed away on Thu, Apr 29, 2010 with her family by her side at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, LTC. Born on Nov 1, 1911 in Murphysboro, IL, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie (Crenshaw) Cowan.
Ethel married Frank Dzuris in Waterford in 1952. She retired from General Motors and then traveled for 20 years. Afterward she decided to work for Burger King and did that for 20 years. Ether served at the Kalkaska Commission on Aging for 25 years.
Surviving Ethel is her daughter, Beveline J (Gordon) Raatz of Surprise, AZ; step children, Frank (Joyce) Dzuris Jr of Rochester and Carolyn (Dale) Muckenhirn of Troy; her grandchildren, Sandra Koenig of Waterford and Pamela (Christopher) Boggs of Manhattan Beach, CA; her three step grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1995; and her two sisters and two brothers.
The memorial service will be held on Sat, May 1, at 11 am at the New Life Assembly of God Church with Pastor David Barker officiating. Burial will be at Christian Memorial West Cemetery in Rochester Hills.
