Enid Viola (Alber) Williams

Mrs. Enid Viola Alber Williams, 76, of Coral, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour whom she faithfully served and now can see and hear, on Sat, Oct 14, 2006. As a young girl, she accepted Christ as her Saviour and was led to the Lord by her mother, Viola Alber. 

She attended Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary when it was located on Wealthy St and was a home missionary under Baptist Mid Missions in Indianapolis, IN. While attending a mission conference, she met Eugene; after corresponding with one another and gaining permission from Baptist Mid Missions, Deacons at her church, and Pastor Demorest, they were married on Jun 15, 1956, at First Baptist Church in Cedar Springs. After marriage they served as missionaries together in Tumu and Accra, Ghana, West Africa. With so many years of service, she was awarded Emeritus Missionary status. After returning to the states, they settled in Maine. Mrs. Williams was a pastor's wife at Mattawamkeag Baptist Church and Barter's Island Baptist Church where Pastor Williams was the minister. At Boothbay Baptist Church she continued her work as a youth worker. Moving back to Michigan in 1997 Pastor Eugene and Mrs. Williams joined Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served the Lord in many different ways including her ministry of music. 

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Pastor Eugene E Williams; daughters, Christine H Williams, Ernestine H Williams, Eunice (Adiisa) Williams, and Ella A. Williams, all of Grand Rapids; brother, Pastor Charles (Ruth) Alber of Ames, IA; sister in law, Mrs. Bertha Alber of Cedar Springs; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth ("Bethy") Mae Williams, and her brother, David Alber. 

The Service of Praise and Thanksgiving for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ for Mrs. Williams was held on Tue, Oct 17, 2006, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coral, MI with Pastor Bert Boes officiating. Interment was at Coral Cemetery.
