Elsie V. Gower, 85, of Kalkaska, passed away on Dec 14, 2010 due to injuries from a traffic accident. She was born on Dec 1, 1925 in Long Island, NY to the late Frank and Elsie Mae (Skellington) Gower.
Elsie married Lloyd Gower in 1944 in New York City. They resided in Beaufort, NC and Mt Clemens, MI before moving to Kalkaska in 1996. Elsie was a homemaker who loved cooking, knitting, crocheting, reading, and tending to her beautiful flower garden. She was one of those people who took everything in and loved people. Elsie was never a stranger to anyone and always friend to everyone. She will be deeply missed.
Elsie is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Lloyd; her dear son, Lloyd Robert (Annette) Gower of Armada; and her cherished grandsons, Lloyd Robert "Boone" Gower of Slaton, TX and Blair Cameron Lloyd Gower of Mount Clemens.
A memorial service celebrating Elsie's life will be held at a later date.
