Elma V. Barber, 91, of Traverse City and formerly of Kalkaska, died Tue, Jan 18, 2000, at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Mrs. Barber resided in Pontiac until 15 years ago when she moved to Kalkaska and then to Traverse City. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and her grandchildren.
she was born in Charleston, WV, on Feb 27, 1908, the daughter of the late Thomas Marion and Ida (Morris) Hewitt. She married Eugene Barber in Pontiac on May 2, 1927. He preceded her in death on Dec 28, 1975.
Surviving are daughters Dorothy Mero of Traverse City and Thelma Garrett of Sweet Home, OR; grandchildren, Everett Jr, Marvin, Nicholas, James, Kenneth, Linda, Nancy, Sherry, Wanda, Darryl, Wayne, Rick, Amy Sue and Coy Ray; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Son Lee Roy Barber; brothers Harry, William and Homer; and sisters, Gertrude, and Viola preceded her in death.
A visitation with family and friends Jan 21 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
