Elizabeth C. Jenkins, 86, of Kalkaska, passed away on Dec. 27, 2010, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center - L.T.C., with her family by her side. She was born at home in South Boardman to the late Dewey and Irene (Sieting) Ely.
Elizabeth married Ivan Wallace Jenkins on May 25, 1941. She was a caring mother to her six children. Elizabeth loved playing Bingo at VFW Post 8684, where she was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed camping with her family and friends. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Ivan; her loving children, LeRoy (Carol) Jenkins, of Kingsley, Larry (Kathy) Jenkins, of Kalkaska, Sheryl (Jerry) Miller, of Kalkaska, Lynn (Andrea) Jenkins, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Todd (Debbie) Jenkins, of Kalkaska; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Carolyn Fay Jenkins; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Rose Jenkins; and her sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Gordon Kniss Sr.
Visitation for Elizabeth was held on Thu, Dec 30, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral took place Fri at 11 am at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Reverend Ken Doss of Victory Outreach Fellowship Church officiated. A graveside service was held in the spring at Lodi Cemetery.
