Eldon H. Ferguson, 74, died Mon, Mar 24, 1997, at his home in Lakes of the North, Mancelona. 

He was born Mar 11, 1923, in Carsonville, the son of Basil and Erie Mae (Mater) Ferguson. he grew up in the thumb area of Michigan. he graduated from Redford High School in 1942. He attended Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield and Purdue University. 

He married Estella Marie Pollard Nov 17, 1944, in Bowling Green, OH. She died May 28, 1982. He then married Victoria Green Ostrowski Nov 27, 1982, in Mancelona. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked for Detroit Edison for 36 years and retired in 1979. He was a member and past master of the Smiths Creek Lodge #491F & AM. He was also a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and square dancing. 

Eldon is survived by his wife Victoria Ferguson of Mancelona; daughters Sharon (Don) Dimon and Evy Lorraine Bogart, both of Kalkaska; grandson William Ferguson of Kalkaska; granddaughters Amber Estelle Bogart and Ashley Lorraine Bogart of Kalkaska; stepdaughters Pat (Al) Bowhall of Acme, Judy (Dan) Atkinson of Mancelona, and Barbara (Paul) Struthers of Commerce Township; stepsons Dennis Ostrowski of CA, David (Cheryl) Ostrowski of IL and Gary Ostrowski, both of IL, and Donald (Karen) Ostrowski of Redford Township; numerous step-grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and sisters Doris Odell of Sheridan and Audrey (Burnie) Gibson of Westland. 

He was preceded in death by daughter Janice Lynn Ferguson Sep 10, 1947. 

Funeral services were Mar 27 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Mancelona. Father William L Zwiefka officiated. Burial is in Washington Township Cemetery, Carsonville, MI. Memorials may be given to the American Kidney Fund, American Diabetes Association, or American Heart Association.
