Edwin Allan Erdman, 76, passed away peacefully in hospice care with his loving and devoted wife, Sherri Kellogg at his side Apr 14, 2020. Allan was born Mar 31, 1944 in Kenosha to Earl Edwin and Pauline Erdman. Allan was educated in Kenosha schools graduating from Mary D Bradford in 1962. He lettered in swimming and track, mastering the high jump, the breast stroke and the butterfly. He enjoyed being one of the chemistry lab assistants to Mary UW Madison. He enjoyed his college years living on Miffling Street with Charles (Chip) Behnke, playing classical guitar and learning the fine art of making lutes and guitars at his cousin’s workshop on State Street. Allan met and married his first wife Connie, who is the mother of their two sons, Kurt and Brian. During his time in college Allan attended a workshop in Berkley California led by world renowned guitarist Andres Segovia. Allan’s passion for music was lifelong. His parents were classical violinists and introduced their children to music as tots. After college years Allan and Connie settled in Kenosha. He joined his father and uncle in the family owned business, Kenosha Machine and Grinding Company. His parents soon retired to Arizona and Allan and his wife continued the business for another ten years until the time of his uncle’s death. By this time Allan and Connie settled on Brown’s Lake in Burlington, WI. After the machine shop closed, Allan worked at area businesses. He became interested in computers their science and technology and how they can be best used to support all phases of the business enterprise. Allan soon became a proficient programmer and mastered business computer science. It was through supporting computers that he met his second wife, Sheri. They eventually retired to Pewaukee area where they enjoyed reading good books and a good meal with friends at many of the local area restaurants. Allan enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and sailing. He and Connie also enjoyed hunting with his lifelong friend, Dennis Hofflander and attending Pro Ice Hockey Games. Allan is survived by his sons, Kurt and Brian, of Pensacola, FL and his sister, Paula Williams of Kenosha. He was a descendant of Captain L.P. Hill, founder of the Hill Steamboat Line at the turn of the last century. His grandmother Iva Hill Erdman was the oldest daughter of Captain Hill.
