Edward was born in Port Huron but grew up in Marysville. He was the eldest of three boys. Edward enlisted in the Marines 20 Sept 1966, at the Detroit Recruiting Office. He took his boot camp training at the San Diego MCRD and graduated with Platoon 3324.

Upon arriving in Vietnam, Edward was assigned to 1st Platoon, Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. He was wounded by multiple fragmentation wounds, during an engagement with enemy forces, 5 kilometers south southwest of Con Thein (Hill 158) in the vicinity of Gio Linh, while participating in Operation Beaver Track/ Buffalo.

Edward died at 2115H aboard the USS Tripoli, as a result of pulmonary edema secondary to multiple shrapnel wounds to the right chest and right shoulder and multiple shrapnel wounds to lower extremities sustained Jul 5, at approximately 1031H.

Edward was single and served his country for 9 months and 18 days. KIA# 14,371.

Edward was 19 years, 10 months and 21 days old.

Survived by his parents; Max Edward & Jennie Doroty Bromley and his two brothers: Patrick and Kelly of 209 Michigan Ave, Marysville, MI.
