Edward L. Bole, 62, of Stockport, Ohio died Thursday afternoon, June 2, 2011 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born September 16, 1948, the son of Chester and Mary (White) Bole, both deceased of Stockport, Ohio. 

Ed graduated from Farwell High School. He enlisted in the Navy at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in 1968. Ed served his country abroad on the USS Yosemite. After his military service he worked as a sand blaster for a time before becoming a heavy equipment operator.

Ed moved his family to Ohio in 1982 where he started a dairy farm which operated for a number of years. He also operated a general store in Pennsville along with Jane for a few years.

Ed retired from wool grading in September 2010. His hobbies were wood working and tending the farm where he and Jane raised goats. 

Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane (Montgomery); their three children, James (Renee) Bole, Abby (Chris Gruse), and Jenney (Chris) Lemon; four grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Bole, Trevor James Bole, Blake Christopher Gruse and Cody Wayde Lemon; four brothers, Gary, Larry (Jean), George "Boyd" (Barb) and Jeff (Peggy) Bole; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. 

Ed was preceded in death by both his parents and Jane's parents, Gary and Geraldine (Ingleright) Montgomery. 

Visitation was held at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska on Saturday, June 4th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at the East Boardman United Methodist Church on Boardman Road on Sunday, June 5th at 1:00 PM. A graveside service immediately follow at the Lodi Cemetery. 

A memorial service will also be held at the Pennsville United Methodist Church in Pennsville, Ohio on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
