Edward H. Wiemer, 88, of Rapid City, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 24, 1990, at Tendercare of Gaylord.
Mr. Weimer was employed as a security guard at Ford Motor Company prior to his retirement in 1963. He moved to Rapid City from Inkster following his retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elk Rapids, and enjoyed landscaping and gardening.
Mr. Weimer was born in Wayne County on Aug. 29, 1901, to George and Wilhelmine Malvitz Weimer. On Dec 15, 1926, in Garden City, he was united in marriage with Linda Bock. She preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 1978.
Surviving are three sons, George Weimer of Garden City, Charles Weimer of Westland, and Harvey (Fritz) Weimer of Indian River; two half brothers, Harry Raker of Inkster and Francis (Pete) Raker of Irons; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 27, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Gerry Schmidt officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
