Edith M Tuffts, 88, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, died Wed, Apr 11, 2001, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Tuffts was a 1931 graduate of Kalkaska High School. She was a member of The Peoples Church, Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Auxiliary, Kalkaska Historical Society, and a former member of the Senior Center Kitchen Band. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bingo, reading, flower, gardening, and embroidery.
She was born in Marcellus on Sep 11, 1912, to Chester and Verna Etter Colborn. She married R.G. Tuffts in South Boardman on May 7, 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan 19, 1978.
Surviving are her son James (Doris) Tufts of Kalkaska; daughters Verna Kirgis of Manton and Belva (Gale) Parker of Gaylord; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Children Barbara May and Gerald Leroy, and brother Kenneth Colborn preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Apr 14 at Wolfe Funeral Home. Rev Paul Karges officiated. Interment was in Oliver Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
