Mrs. Echoe Birgy, 78, a former resident of Fife Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1990, at the home of her daughter in Anaheim, CA.
Mrs. Birgy spent her early years in Oklahoma, and came to Kalkaska County as a young girl. She moved to California in May 1988. Mrs. Birgy enjoyed needle work, flowers, culinary arts, and gardening.
She was born in Tacoma, WA on Dec. 10, 1911, to Harry and Sadie Conkey Deibert. On Jan. 8, 1928, in Kalkaska, she was married to Eugene Birgy who preceded her in death on March 29, 1986.
Surviving are one daughter, JoAnn Reynolds of Anaheim, CA; one son, James N. Birgy of Newberry; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Marion Nye officiated. Burial will be in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
