Dorothy M. Korr, 72, a long time resident of Mancelona and Manistee Lake, died suddenly Wednesday, April 18, 1990 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Korr was an active member of the community. She served 13 years on the Mancelona Village Council. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and she was a member of the Altar Guild.
She was secretary of the Mancelona Bowling League for 25 years, and secretary for 21 years for the Women's International Bowling Congress. She was a past president of the Leisure Club. She had been employed at the former A & P in Mancelona. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics, and crocheting.
On Sept. 2, 1917 in Mancelona, she was born to Charles and Delphia (Huff) Watkins. She was united in marriage on June 8, 1935 to John F. Korr, and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Mary Korr in 1955; a granddaughter, Stephanie Jacobs in 1983; four brothers, Leslie Watkins, Cecil Watkins, Donald Watkins, and an infant brother; and three sisters, Violet Paulson, Irene Miller and an infant sister.
She is survived by one son, John F. Korr, Jr. of Traverse City; six daughters, Neva Marconeri, Mrs. Fred (Kathryn) Bonner, Carol Baker, Teresa Korr, and Mrs. Gerald (Constance) Trudeau, all of Mancelona, and Mrs. Mark (Patricia) Jacobs of Kalkaska; ten grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. George (Evelyn) Haakenson of Barton, ND, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Wood of Thompsonville, Mrs. Robert (Verna) Miller of Bloomfield Hills, and Mary Lou Hawks of Livonia.
The mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, April 21 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona with Rev. Robert W. Nalley officiating. Burial was in St. Anthony Cemetery, Mancelona.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona.
