Dorothy Jean (Haggitt) Nold, 76, of Midland and Kalkaska, died peacefully at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, the morning of Sat, Oct 25, 2003. 

She was born Jun 5, 1927, in Midland, daughter of the late Leslie and Edna (Neal) Haggitt. She was married to her husband of 53 years, Ernest E Nold, on Jul 16, 1945, in Midland. He predeceased her on Jan, 14, 1999. 

Dorothy retired from the Midland Public Schools where she was a cook and kitchen helper. She was active in her church, St Paul's Lutheran Church in Kalkaska, and was also a member of St John's Lutheran Church in Midland. 

Dorothy loved her cabin on the Manistee River where she fed the birds and watched the deer and the occasional bear. 

Dorothy will be missed by her children and their families, Karl Nold and his wife Diane and their children, Stacy, Kate, and Paul, all of Midland, and Paula Carr and her husband Todd of Midland and their children Bryan Carr and his wife Beth of Midland, Eric Car and his wife Roxanne of Washington DC and Michelle Dishaw and her husband Tom of Virginia. Also surviving is her great granddaughter, Kaitlin Carr, and her brother, Vern Haggitt of Bay City and many nieces, nephews, and special friends from both the Kalkaska and Midland areas. 

In addition to her parents and husband Ernest, she was predeceased by her son, Raymond Paul Nold; granddaughter, Rebecca Nold; and brother, Donald Haggitt. 

Funeral services are at 11 am Wed, Oct 29, 2003, from the St John's Lutheran Church in Midland. 

The Rev. John Pohanka and the Rev. Ted Turanski of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Kalkaska will both officiate with burial to follow in the Midland Cemetery. Mrs. Nold's family will receive friends at the church on Wed from 10 am until time of services. 

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the St John's Lutheran Church in Midland or the St Paul's Lutheran Church in Kalkaska.
