Our great and wonderful Lord received one of his servants Donnis June Redman in to Heaven on Oct 23, 2015. She was born Jan 3, 1933 in Bushnell Twp, Montcalm County, MI.
Donnis’s middle name was June, but could’ve been “Ma”, because she fostered over 150 children over the years; secondly, cared for at least that many daycare children; always first and foremost though was “Ma” to her children and also “Ma” to all their friends. Donnis was known for her giving heart; enjoyed helping and spending time with family and friends. She was also a staple at the Delta Mills United Methodist Church for over 50 years and always supported the church throughout all of its changes. She was known throughout the community for her baking and giving boxes of cookies at Christmas and birthdays.
Donnis’s kind and caring soul will be greatly missed. Donnis is survived by her son Allen (Shirley) Redman, daughter, Tina Marie Redman; grandchildren, Keilah (Jeremy) Havener, Dominique (Matthew) Hopf, and Elijah (Meghan) Redman, great grandchildren, Sean, Phoebe, and Mary Hopf; four sisters: Barbara Hawkins, Ellen (Evert) Martens, Carolee (Jim) Fenner, and Clara (Bob) Lewis, and brother, Richard (Annete) Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Esther (Simmons) Snyder, sister: Mae O’Connell, two infant sisters, and brother, Guy Snyder.
In honoring Donnis’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family invites friends and family for a celebration of Donnis’ life at the Delta Mills United Methodist Church, 6809 Deta River DR, Lansing, MI on Sat, Oct 31, 2015 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Delta Mills United Methodist Women’s Fellowship Group in memory of Donnis Redman.
