Donald J. Nora, 68, of Kalkaska, died Mon, May 30, 1994 at his residence.

Mr. Nora moved to Kalkaska County in 1980, from Redford, following his retirement from Ford Motor Company. He was a graduate of Purdue University, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was active in the Bear Lake Improvement Association, and a member of the Disabled American War Veterans, and a former member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. 

Mr. Nora was born in Norway, MI on Jun 7 ,1925 to James and Theresa Baravetto Nora. On Sep 6, 1948, in Norway, he was married to Germaine Peters who survives. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Paul Nora, of Big Rapids; three daughters, Barbara Sorenson of Kalkaska, Mrs. Michael (Donna) Elmore of Panama City, FL, and Mrs. Ali (Patricia) Abbasabadi of Big Rapids; two brothers, Floyd Nora and Joseph Nora both of Norway; one sister, Celeste Jacobson of Iron Mountain; and two granddaughters, Becky and Karen Elmore. 

One brother, Clayton, preceded him in death. 

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thu, Jun 2, 1994, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick J. Barrett and Father Paul Brien officiated. Burial was in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Kalkaska County. 

The Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
