Devere "Dee" Larabee, 91, of Kalkaska County, passed away on Mar 29, 2006, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on Oct 1, 1914, in Kalkaska County, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Nina (Armstrong) Larabee.
Dee married Bethel B. Eckhardt on May 31, 1959, in Kalkaska County.
He was a lifelong resident of the county. Dee farmed in Excelsior Township for most of his life. He loved his dogs, hunting, and was a well known bear hunter. Dee was a past Camp Ranger at Camp Tapico in Excelsior Township.
Surviving Dee is Bethel, his wife of 46 years; brother, Rex (Annabelle) Larabee of Muskegon; sisters, Beatrice Patterson, Vivian Turnipseed, Nova (Donald) Darke, and Leeta Martin, all of Kalkaska County; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dee in death were his parents; sisters, Opal Hauser and Alma Larabee; and brothers, Harold Larabee, Harry Melvin Larabee, and Max Larabee.
Visitation and funeral services took place at the funeral home, with Jeff Badgero officiating from the Kalkaska Church of Christ. Burial will be at Excelsior Township Cemetery.
