Former Rapid City resident, Dennis James Farmer Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, 64, died Jan 2, 2020 at work in Everett, WA. 

Dennis was born Nov 11, 1955, in Detroit to Lively and Sophie Farmer. He was a business owner in Rapid City, for over 19 years and lived there around 30. Dennis was a hard worker and a great provider. He was a comedian who was known for making everyone laugh. He exuded this magnetic energy with an infectious smile that could turn one's frown upside down. 

Dennis was mentor to all, whether you were a supervisor, worker, family or friend, he was the go-to man for information. He enjoyed hunting and spent many days hunting with his brother, Rick. 

At family reunions or gatherings, he would be one of the first ready to play softball and volleyball. Dennis also enjoyed classic country music and he was a fabulous singer. He was a huge fan of John Wayne movies and Lemon Meringue Pie and was best remembered wearing a pocket tee shirt with a pack of Marlboro Reds poking out. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Farmer; children, Dennis James Farmer Jr, Todd and Kathy (Farmer) Schram and Chris and Paula (Farmer) Krogel; his grandchildren, Dominic Alan Farmer, Malachi James Farmer, Adrianah Lee Farmer, Aleah Sophia Farmer, Eli Jamison Farmer, Kaitlin Schram, Kristin Schram, Kelsey Schram, and Todd Douglas Schram; step-children, Christopher Barber, Dustin Way, Katrina Doss; step grandchildren; his sisters and brother, Art and Susan (Farmer) Amidon, Rick and Lyla (McNeeley) Farmer, Joe and Dawn (Farmer) Keys; and his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grand nieces, great grandnephews and many cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lively and Sophie Farmer; his grandparents, Lewis and Velma Farmer; and his uncles, Chancy Farmer and Paul Farmer. 

Memorial service and gathering will be held at 2 pm, Sat, Jan 25 at the Williamsburg Event Center, 4230 M72 East, Williamsburg, MI 49690

Dennis James Farmer Jr. will officiate his service. Food and beverages will be provided and a cash bar.
