David C. Davis, 74, of Alden, died Wednesday night, August 29, 1990, at his residence. Mr. Davis moved to Alden from Garden City in 1975. He worked as an Experimental Mechanic for 40 years at Ford Motor Company prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW2. He loved nature and enjoyed music and reading.
He was born on February 7, 1916 in Harriman, Tenn. to Thomas F. and Grace (Leach) Davis. On July 22, 1939, in Dearborn, he was married to Genevieve Horger who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Richard Davis of Redford; one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary Jill) Dallessandro of Dearborn; one brother, Stanley Davis of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Geraldine Burdick, Pauline Kveen, and Norma Gierczak all of Dearborn Heights; three grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Willard, and one sister, Marie Aldrich, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Sept 1, 1990, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
A scripture service was held at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Kalkaska County, Inc or St. Mary of the Woods Building Fund.
