David B. Smith, 47, of Fife Lake, died Wed at Munson Medical Center.
A resident of Fife Lake for most of his life, he was a custodian at the Forest Area Community Schools for the last 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and woodworking.
He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Born December 29, 1945, in Fife Lake, he was the son of Emery Zack and Gladys Mae (Wheeler) Smith. On May 6, 1972, in Fife Lake, he married the former Karlene McNair, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Eric Smith, and one daughter, Lisa Smith, both at home; his mother Gladys Smith of Fife Lake; parents in law, Charlie and Clarice McNair of Kingsley; one sister, Mrs. William (Jeanette) Haskin of Fife Lake; and two brothers, Neil Smith of Kingsley and Curt Smith o Fife Lake.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Smith; and one sister, Vivian in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sat at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. The Rev. Mervin L. McNair Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery, Fife Lake.
