David B. Perry, 98, of Stanwood, passed away peacefully on Mon, Mar 9, 2009, at Spectrum Health-Reed City Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born Mar 17, 1910, in Springfield Township to Jacob and Frances (Cunningham) Perry, the third of five children. He resided for many years on a farm on Creighton Rd near South Boardman.
After retiring from Haven Busch in Grand Rapids, David moved to a 100 acre farm near Stanwood, where he resided for the last 33 years with his wife, Eldena and son, Allen.
David enjoyed working with horses and kept at least one until he was 93. He had many friends in the Amish communities in the Stanwood area. Theirs was a lifestyle he appreciated and enjoyed.
David is survived by his wife, Eldena M Perry presently at Spectrum Health-Reed City Skilled Nursing Facility; a son, Allen L Perry of Stanwood; two daughters, Judith K (Gordon) VanAmburg of Whitmore Lake and Jean A (Wayne) Edwards of Stanwood; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Johanna Perry Whiteford of Williamsburg and Viva Perry of Manton; eight nieces and five nephews.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no public services.
