Mr. Daniel Murphy, 77, died at the Boardman Valley hospital in Traverse City, July 27, 1950, after an illness of several months.
He was born in Springfield township January 10, 1873. On April 16, 1928 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Etta Hill of South Boardman at Fife Lake. They lived on their farm east of Fife Lake until six years ago when they retired, moving to Fife Lake village.
Mr. Murphy was the son of Isaiah and Sarah Murphy, pioneer residents of Springfield township. He was one of eleven children, now all dead.
He was a member of the Fife Lake Methodist Church, and was a good neighbor and friend.
Surviving besides the widow are three step-sons, Delma Aubel Celon and Hurshel Hill of Ann Arbor.
Funeral services were held at the Fife Lake Methodist Church, Sunday, July 30, at 2:30 p.m. Burial was in Springfield cemetery. Rev. Henry Van Wesep. Rev. Geo. A Tennant and Rev. A. W. Baker conducted the services.
