Dale B. Montgomery, 73, of Mancelona died on Fri, Dec 29, 2001, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. 

Dale was born May 30, 1927, in Bellaire, the son of Leo and Ruth (Wiltse) Montgomery. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Aug 26, 1950, in Mancelona, Dale married Alice Thomas. They made their home in Mancelona. Dale owned and operated the State Farm Insurance Agency in Mancelona for 28 years. He retired in 1987. He was a longtime Mason and Shriner. Dale enjoyed riding both motorcycles and snowmobiles. Most of all he loved his family. 

He is survived by his wife Alice Montgomery of Mancelona; son Allen (Rhonda) Montgomery of Mancelona; daughter Jeanne (Randy) Brooks of Kalkaska; grandchildren Andrew Allen Montgomery of Central Lake, Ryan Allen Montgomery of Sarasota, FL, Leighann Brooks of Kalkaska, and Alyssa J Montgomery of Mancelona; great grandchildren Paige M Montgomery of Charlevoix and Ryan Steven Montgomery of Sarasota, FL; brother Kenneth R (Gaytha) Montgomery of Boston, MA; sisters Jean Applegate of Portland, OR; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Burton K and Floyd Leo Montgomery. 

Funeral services were Sun, Dec 31 at the Penzien Funeral Home, Inc. in Mancelona; Pastor Mark McCool and Yousef "Yogi" Jabara, both of Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona officiated. Graveside services at Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona will be announced in the spring. 

Memorials may be given to the charities for Polio or the Parkinson Foundation, 3990 John R Detroit, MI 48201-9983.
