Mrs. Cordelia McCaslin, 91, of Lowell, died Wednesday, Jan 30, 1991, at Cumberland Retirement Village. She moved to the caring and loving atmosphere of Cumberland Village three years ago from Grand Rapids.
Mrs. McCaslin moved to Grand Rapids from Torch Lake in 1986. She was a founder and past president of the Person's Harbor Women's Club, and a member and former choir director at the Alden United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed at the Guy Dean Insurance Agency in Alden, and enjoyed sewing.
Mrs. McCaslin was born in Saginaw County on Sept 15, 1899 to James and Ida Eaton Best.
In 1929, she was married to William McCaslin who preceded her in death on March 16, 1958.
One brother, Everet Best, also preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Horace and Ruth Howard of Rapid City; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb 3, 1991, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. David Cheyne, pastor of the Alden United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids.
