Cora Frances “Fran” Gittings, 69, Springfield, MO, passed away Dec 18, 1997, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
She was born Jul 29, 1928, to John and Cora M Robbins. She was the oldest of three children. Mrs. Gittings was a former long time resident of Tecumseh, MI. She married Arlo Dean Gittings Sr, in 1947, and they lived in Mansfield, MO, for most of her remaining years. Her husband, Mr. Arlo Gittings, preceded her in death on Sep 27, 1993.
She is survived by four sons, Dean Gittings, Cabool, MO, Thomas Gittings, Matthew Gittings, b oth of Springfield, MO, and Joel Gittings, Hartville, MO; four daughters, Jane Dennis, Cora Colby, Sandra Goff, all of Springfield, MO, and Judy Sommer, Edmond, OK; a sister, Margaret Ann Green; a brother, Ivan Robbins, Port Huron, MI; 29 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and an abundance of family and friends.
We will all miss her smiling face and her wonderful zest for life.
Services will be at 12:30 pm Mon, Dec 22 ,1997, in North National Church of Christ with burial in National Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
