Mrs. Clittie M. Engles, 68, of Fife Lake, passed away Friday morning at the Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital after a brief illness. Surviving are her husband Harold at home; two sisters, Mrs. Leon (Alva) Pender of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Al (Verdith) Erickson of Long Beach, Calif; two brothers, Herbert McClellan of Fife Lake and Willard of Detroit; a half brother, Frank Barber of Central Lake; a step brother, Stanley McDonald of Ypsilanti; two stepsisters, Mrs. Lorretta Hanchett of Wyandotte, and Mrs. Beatrice Parson of Ypsilanti. Her parents and a sister, Gertrude Fitzgerald, preceded her in death. She was born Feb. 15, 1904 in Sharon, Mich., the daughter of Minnie and George B. McClellan, and married Harold B. Engles March 26, 1926 in Indiana. She had lived in Grand Rapids, Flint, Pioneer and in Detroit, where she was employed by Cadillac Motor Co. She also lived in Northport for 23 years before moving to Fife Lake in 1969. Mrs. Engles was a member of the Fife Lake Baptist Church, the Rebecca Lodge, and the Fife Lake Women's Club. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley with Rev. Oscar Coolbaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Clark Cemetery in Kalkaska County.
