Clarence V. Jackson, 78, of Rapid City, died Monday morning, February 5, 1990, at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital.
Mr. Jackson resided in Dearborn Heights until 21 years ago when he moved to Rapid City. He worked for many years as an operating engineer, and later was employed by Vacationland Homes in Bellaire. He was a member of the Rapid City Church of Christ and Operating Engineers Local 324. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Jackson was born in Nashville, TN on June 9, 1911, to Oliver and Lennie (Jackson) Jackson. He was married on July 3, 1931, in Nashville to Roberta Lee who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis Jackson of Southgate and Donald Jackson of Romulus; two daughters, Barbara Tharp-Chancey of Westland and Gloria Moore of Gladstone; two brothers, Collie Jackson of Nashville, and Bill Reece of Bethpage, TN; one sister, Lois Jackson of Bethpage, TN; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Two brothers, William and Clyde Jackson preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Jerry Leazenby, pastor of the Rapid City Church of Christ, officiated. Burial will be in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
