Christopher (Sweet) Scott Burgess, 38, of Traverse City, formerly of Fife Lake died unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov 1, 2011. Chris was born May 17, 1973, and was the son of Ivan and Karen (Taylor) Burgess.
Chris graduated from Forest Area High School with honors and from the TBAISD business program with honors.
Chris loved all sports; he especially loved his U of M team.
Although Chris had no kids of his own, he was Uncle Chris to many children. Chris had a special love for his Megan. Chris lived life to the fullest. He was always there for his friends. Chris will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Chris is survived by his parents, Ivan and Karen Burgess, of Fife Lake; brothers, Jeffery (Sarah) Burgess, of Gwinn, and Clinton (Willow) Burgess, of Kalkaska; and grandmothers, Louise Taylor and Sara Burgess, both of Fife lake. A special "awesome out" goes to Aunt Theresa and Uncle Dave.
Chris was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Burgess; and beloved grandpas, Walter Taylor and Ivan Burgess.
An informal gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. A candlelight service in remembrance of Chris will take place later that evening at 10 p.m. at the Traverse City Open Space.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Chris to his mother, Karen Burgess.
