Charlotte K. Birgy, 94, a longtime resident of Fife Lake, died Mon, Feb 21, 2000, at Munson Medical Center.
Mrs. Birgy was born in Kalkaska County on Feb 3, 1906, the daughters of Knud and Carrie Johnson. On Nov 20, 1922, in Kalkaska, she married Joseph Birgy, who preceded her in death on Mar 27, 1987.
Mrs. Birgy formerly served as Springfield Township Treasurer, and had been a member of the Boardman Area Senior Citizen's Club. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Surviving are brother in law Derwood Birgy of Fife Lake; sisters in law, Ursal Birgy of Kalkaska and Helen Birgy of Grayling; and many nieces and nephews.
Daughter Jeanette preceded her in death in 1926, and half sister Marguerite Miller Norwood also preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Feb 24 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. David McCool officiated. Interment will be in the spring at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Fife Lake.
