Broadway, Charles Wesley, age 92 of Caseville, died Jun 17, 2015. He passed away peacefully at Tuscola Medical Care Community in Caro after a long and happy life.

He was born Jun 1, 1923 to Mabel (Kellogg) and Richard Broadaway. He married Mildred Westover in Redford on Nov 7, 1942 and lived in Clarkston until he moved to Caseville in 2002 with his daughter Fran. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Mildred, sisters Mary Whitwell and Mackie Bowles, daughter Carol Pepper, grandson Scott Williams, and son-in-law Chuck Young. Charles is survived by his sister Nita Robinson; daughters, Fran Young and Char (Steve) Williams; grandchildren, Vicki (Patrick) Essenmacher, Tina (Kurt) Kowitz, Chuck (Julie) Pepper, and Jennifer (James) Stewart; and five great-grandchildren.

Charles served in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a teenager and the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, introducing himself as “Honest Charlie,” trading stories, and watching the Detroit Tigers.

Funeral Service Sat 12:30pm at the Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home, Clarkston, where friends may visit Fri 6-8pm and Sat 11:30am until time of the service. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
