Charles S. Edgecomb, 51, of Rapid City, died Sunday, July 8, 1990, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Edgecomb moved to Rapid City 10 years ago from Yale, Mich. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mechanical engineer at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren. He was a member and Flotilla Vice Commander of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Elk-Skegemog Watershed Association, and the Michigan Trail Riders. He was a woodboat hobbyist, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known as "Mr. Muskie."
Mr. Edgecomb was born in Detroit on July 7, 1939, to Charles P. and Margaret Conn Edgecomb. On June 3, 1960, in Mt. Clemens, he was united in marriage with Carol Daugherty who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Charles E. Edgecomb of Rapid City; three daughters, Julie Hall, Laura Edgecomb, and Erin Edgecomb all of Rapid City; his mother, Margaret Francisco of New Baltimore; two sisters, Carol Gill of New Baltimore, and Kathleen Sudenmeyer of Hillsdale; and one grand daughter.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 11, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Jack Stockwell officiated. Cremation followed funeral services.
