Charles F Jolly of Linden, age 86, passed away Fri, Jan 11, 2008 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Rd, Pastor William Stenke officiating. Per his wishes cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice. Visitation 12 to 2 pm Monday at the funeral Home.
Charles was born on Jan 19, 1921 in Flint, MI, the son of the late Charles and Viola (Johnson) Jolly. On Jul 5, 1968 he married Isabelle Nellie Mitchell in Flint. Charles was an avid golfer, snowmobiler, enjoyed yard work and playing solitaire. Charles and Isabelle, his wife of 40 years enjoyed traveling and playing cards together.
He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Charles retired from General Motors AC Spark Plug Division with 20 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Isabelle of Linden; children, Beth Williams of Fenton, Paul Jolly of Flint, David Jolly of Mackinac Island, Norma (Bob) Roberts of Grand Blanc, Wade (Rosalie) Cousins of Wyoming; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Jolly and sister, Mabel Bohl.
