Charles C. Harp, 66, of Fife Lake, a retired Detroit Fireman, died Sunday, evening, Feb. 4, 1990, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Harp moved to Fife Lake from Detroit in 1974, and was a Christmas tree grower, He served the U.S. Navy during WW2. Mr. Harp was a member of the Retired Police and Fire Department Association, and was affiliated with the Garfield Country Church. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Harp was born in Detroit on Jan. 21, 1924, to Melvin and Blanche Rice Harp. On May 22, 1948, in Detroit, he was united in marriage with Hulene Nickens who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles M. Harp of Fie Lake and Robert L. Harp of Warren; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 8, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Kim Hough, pastor of the Garfield Country Church, officiated. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
