Carl K Ebnit, 71, a resident of High Lake since 1998, drowned near his home at 7:30pm Wed, May 9, 2007.
He was born Oct 16, 1935 in Linn Grove, IN a son of Melvin and Emaline (Denny) Ebnit. His formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. He attended Central High School, Fort Wayne.
In 1959 he enlisted in the US Army. He was honorably discharged Aug 18, 1965.
He was employed at the Zollner Piston in Fort Wayne as a maintenance mechanic and retired in 1985 with 30 years of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Randy) Reichert of Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and special friend Tiny Reed of New Haven.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Rita Ebnit; a brother, Larry Ebnit and sister, Deloris Arnett.
The visitation will be Mon, May 14, 2007 from 6-8pm at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
