Brandon Jeffrey Crain of Cadillac passed away at his home after a long battle with Chronic Lyme Disease. He was 37. Brandon was born February 24, 1978 in Livonia, Michigan. 
He graduated from Olathe East High School in Olathe, Kansas and went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He worked as chef in many upscale dining establishments. He was especially proud of his time as the executive chef at Pierpont’s at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri. 
Brandon loved being a father and enjoyed spending time with his sons. He was a talented musician and gifted artist. He had a passion for helping others and rose to the occasion following Hurricane Katrina; supporting food drives for those in need. Brandon had a strong desire to learn and spread awareness of Lyme Disease and to find a cure for Chronic Lyme Disease. 
On April 23, 2001 he married the former Emily Miller and she survives him along with sons, Bastien and Elliott all of Cadillac; mother, Marsha (John) Mellish of Cadillac; father, Ronald Crain of Kansas City, Missouri; siblings: Kristin Crain (Jason Burress) of Portland, Oregon, Lindsay Crain of Seattle, Washington and Ryan Callahan (Michaella Baker) of Ann Arbor; his grandmothers, Evelyn Crain of Carbondale, Illinois and Joyce Mellish of Howell; nephews, Peyton and Maxwell Burress; niece, Mira Schwendemann; Uncle Kenneth (Cathy) Ring; Aunt Sue Crain; many special cousins; father-in-law, Joe (Jeanne) Miller; mother-in-law, Lisa Donn (Paul Chinn); sister-in-law, Angela (Cory) Schwendemann and brother-in-law, Eric Miller (Catherine Spark); step siblings: Steve (Becky)Mellish of Reese, Michigan, Tad (Shannon) Mellish of Cadillac, Shane (Janelle) Mellish of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by grandparents: Wilburn Crain, V. Maxine and Lowell Ring and John W. Mellish.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at NorthernLight Church of Cadillac with Pastor John Mellish officiating. His final resting place will be Brown Cemetery in Barryton, Michigan.
