Blanche M Leach, 87, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully on Thu, Oct 26, 2006, at home. She was born on Dec 20, 1918, in Bicknell, IN, the daughter of the late Leon and Mary (Villian) VanHoye.
Blanche married Gerald R. Leach on Feb 14, 1945, in Detroit. Together they moved to Kalkaska in 1945 from Detroit. Blanche enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and baking. Everyone enjoyed her oatmeal cake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving Blanche are her children, Geraldine B. Martindale of Kalkaska, Leon "Snuffy" (Sharla) Leach of Rapid City; stepchildren, Alice (Jim) Kallas, Diane Morey, all of Evart, Nadine Miles of Lakeview and Lorraine Mishler of Luzerne; six grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Germaine (Ed) Curtis of Kalkaska, Emile (Jane) VanHoye of Denver, CO, and Victor VanHoye of Farmington, MO.
Preceding Blanche in death was her husband, Gerald, parents, and siblings, Leona, Henry and Viola.
The funeral service was held on Mon, Oct 30 at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home with Jeff Badgero and Tim Severance from Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery.
