Betty J. “Jean” Farley, age 86, of Battle Creek passed away Wed, Oct 5, 2016. She was born in Battle Creek on Oct 22, 1929. The daughter of David A. and Velma (Kiefer) Daley and graduated from Bellevue High School.
Jean married LaVerne Robert Farley in Bellevue, MI on Oct 21, 1950; he sadly preceded her in death on Aug 30, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son Paul Allen Farley on Jan 17, 2014, and her grandson, Scott Robert Farley on May 23, 2012. Jean is survived by her children, Linda Gardner, Phil (Brenda) Farley, Nancy Farley, and Kenny (Sandy) Farley; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Lyndall Adams; a niece, Summer Adams, and a great niece, “Bella” Adams.
A true matriarch, Jean loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Springfield Assembly of God Church and enjoyed flowers.
Cremation has taken place and no services are being planned. Jean will be interred with her husband at Bell Cemetery in Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
