Mrs. Betty A. Harger, 69, of Rapid City, died Sat, Apr 26, 1997, at Munson Medical Center.
Mrs. Harger moved to Rapid City from Boyne City 22 years ago. She had been employed by Craft House prior to her retirement, and enjoyed music, singing, fishing, and boating.
Born in Gaylord on Nov 1, 1927, she was the daughter of Samuel and Beulah (Meads) Olund. In 1946, she married Joseph Albert Etcher, who preceded her in death. On Aug 13, 1977, in Kalkaska, she married Manuel Harger. he died Mar 30, 1996.
Surviving are sons, Joseph (Laurel) Etcher of East Jordon, David (Mary) Etcher of Rudyard, Clyde Etcher of Saginaw, and Barney Etcher of Rapid City; daughters, Marlene Safko of Florida and Mary Etcher of Mt. Clemens; sisters Delores Tubbergen and Louise Strickland both of Holland; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Donna Liskie; son Bryan; brothers Samuel, Calvin, and Roger Olund; and sister Martha Olund.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
