Mrs. Bessie L. Walter, 73, of South Boardman died Monday, April 2, 1990, at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital.
Mrs. Walter graduated from Medarville, Indiana High School in 1935, and moved to South Boardman from Indiana in 1951. She was a member of the Deibert Club, and served as a volunteer with the Service of Love Program. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and published her own cookbook.
Mrs. Walter was born in Star City, IN on July 13, 1916, to Charles and Myrtle Liming Campbell. On Dec 24, 1936, in Chicago, she was married to Louis W. Walter who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Louis W. Walter, Jr., of South Boardman, and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 5, 1990, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson, pastor of Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
