Bernice A. Squires, 88, of Mancelona died Thursday, March 1 at Kalkaska Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Squires lived most of her life in Mancelona where she had been employed at Mt. Clemens Metal Products.
She was born June 30, 1901 in Saugatuck to Louis and Annette (Slater) Hammond.
In 1919, she was married to William A. Kiel. He died Dec. 24, 1949. In 1952, she was married to Orlo Squires in Alden. He preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1962.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, her twin, Boyd, and Willis Hammond; two sisters, Elsie Slater and Florence Justice; and one son, Elton Kiel.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Vera) Musser of Mancelona, Mrs. Thelma Root of Detroit and Mrs. Robert (Lois) Musser of Kalkaska; two sons, William A. Kiel and Darel "Stub" Kiel, both of Mancelona; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Services were held March 4 at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona with the Rev. Gary Sherrald officiating.
