Arthur Stone, 17, son of Mr. And Mrs. Pearl Stone on the west side, lost his life almost instantaneously last Saturday evening while on his way with a chum, Rex Harvey, to Lexington. The automobile win which they were riding was driven by the Harvey boy, and when just west of Lexington village limits the car slewed on the icy road, and after losing control of it the vehicle crossed the ditch on the north side of the road and struck a maple tree with the result that the car was badly demolished, the Stone boy was killed and young Harvey received cuts and bruises. Help was called and all were brought to Croswell. Young Harvey has recovered in fine shape, and is now able to be out. 

Arthur stone was born in this city Dec 24, 1913, and had grown to be a favorite among a large group. He was a junior in the local high school, and a very successful student. Besides his studies he was popular in athletics, and held a place in football last fall. The young lad will be greatly missed in the social circles of the school, and his sudden demise is to be greatly lamented by everyone. 

Besides his parents, Mr and Mrs. Stone he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Donald Stapleton of this city, and Irene and Myrtle at home. 

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church on Tue afternoon at 2 pm which were largely attended by friends and relatives. Interment in the Croswell Cemetery.
