Anna M. Carroll, age 77, of Escanaba, MI died May 12, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital. Her husband of 59 years, Albert Carroll, 78, died less than two weeks later, on May 25, 2004 at the Christian Parks Health Care Center.
Anna was born Apr 30, 1927 in Allentown, PA and Albert was born Feb 13, 1926 in Port Huron, MI. They were married Aug 4, 1945. Together, they moved to Perkins in the 1960’s and then to Escanaba in the 1990’s. As a couple they enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping. Anna was a wonderful cook and Albert was a classic car buff. He had also been a heavy equipment operator most of his working life and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union #324.
Survivors included a daughter-in-law: Linda Lippens Grenfell of Escanaba, a granddaughter, Lorri Carroll (Eugene Jr.) Merrell of Gladstone and one grandson: Eric Shade of Indianapolis, IN.
Anna also left a sister: Helen Chomick of Allentown, PA.
Albert’s two brothers survive him: George E. Carroll of Manistique, MI and Henry (Sue) Carroll of Rogers City, MI, 2 sisters: Leola Lamb of CO; Bernadine (Dar) Shue of Galapse, OH and Cleo Sheldon of MI.
