Funeral services for Alva C. Templin, 68, of 159 Fremont St, will be at 2pm Fri at the Hartzler-Gutermuth Funeral Home. The Rev. John Miller will officiate. Mr. Templin died early Wed at home, apparently from a heart attack.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Memories, Rice Cemetery.
He was born February 23, 1916 in Wells County. He married Evelyn M. Slentz on October 25, 1941, in Hartford City, IN. She died August 11, 1981. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Max (Betty) Blankenbaker, Portland, IN, and Mrs. Elmer (Pearline) Stroud, Scottsdale, AZ; his mother, Bessie Templin, Portland, IN; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Templin retired in 1979 from Best Plastics Co., and was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge.
