Alice Leola Brock, 93, of Brown City and Stonegate Village in Sandusky, died Fri 4, 2023 at Marlette Hospice Center. She was born Sep 3, 1929, to Richard and Emma Shephard. Leola graduated from Brown City High School Class of 1947. She married Duane Brock on Dec 6, 1947, in the Omard Methodist Church.
Leola was a farmer’s wife, and worked at Travco, Hammill Industries and Lindy’s Carrot Farm in Imlay City. She was a 4-H leader and loved to do gardening. She belonged to Omard Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Women’s Association.
Leola is survived by her four children, Nancy (Robert) Davidson, UT, Carol Burgess, Brown City, Donna (Don) Wheeler, Pigeon, Clark (Marcia) Brock, Kinde. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Lloyd Shephard, several nieces and nephews as well as her friends and staff of her Stonegate Village family.
Leola is preceded in death by her husband, Duane; sister, Doris Logghe and brother, Morris Shephard.
Visitation for Leola was held on Tue, Feb 7, 2023 from 3 to 8 pm in Carman Funeral Home in Brown City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wed, Feb 8, 2023 at Carmen Funeral Home with Elder James McLeod officiating. Grandsons served as casket bearers with burial in Omard Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Omard Methodist Church or to the family discretionary fund.
