Alfred Joseph Scriver Sr., of Traverse City, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Munson Medical Center with his family at his side.
Al was born Jan. 18, 1939, in Oxford, to Russell and Irene (Gregware) Scriver. In 1956, Al enlisted in the United States Marines and served his country for four years.
On Jan. 17, 1964, he married Victoria Virginia Green in Elk Rapids.
Al enjoyed bowling fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria; children, Alfred (Donna) Scriver Jr., Irene (Mindard) Newhouse III, Wanda Scriver and Charles (Angela) Scriver Sr.; two very special grandsons, Adam and Kyle Scriver, who lived with him for many years; 11 other special grandchildren; one great-grandson, Keegan; siblings, Barbara (Wayne) Hurlburt, Donald (Joan) Scriver and Betty (Chuck) Coy.
Besides his parents, Al was preceded in death by a son, Thomas in 1973; five brothers; and four sisters.
